| Boys Don't Cry |
[21 Aug 2006|10:45am] |
|
I started crying a few years ago, about things I used to consider silly even, and I just haven't stopped. Men everywhere, and in my culture especially, don't cry, let alone show emotion. I feel so good about it though. It's like being in a sauna, the after feel. I feel human, and am glad to be one.

Bob Marley - Time Will Tell |

I spoke to my mother, had a real long good conversation and yeah, It felt so good. It was 2:30 am when we finished talking and I had a real good night sleep afterwards. My mom is exactly 10 001 miles away from pioneer square in Portland OR, and believe me, we get closer and closer and closer to each other everytime we speak, I mean by the day. Gets exponential even. Yeah, 713 days since I last saw my mother. I can only dream.
Eversince I was a kid, I convinced myself that I was the favourite amongst her 3 kids who all happen to be boys. My 3 brothers share the same thought with me though. guess it zeroes out.

| Zimbabwe in the NY Times - it's true though |
[02 May 2006|10:18am] |
In rural areas, said one official of a foreign-based charity ... the dead are buried in open fields at night, she said. Recently, she watched one family dismantle their home's cupboard to construct a makeshift coffin. "I'll never forget that," she said. "The incredible sadness of it all."
Mother and daughter make as much as $10 in American money each week by selling vegetables, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. [This much can afford them only 2 loaves of bread daily and nothing else, and it'll all be gone], [of course they don't use it to buy bread]
The couple [in their 60's] occupies one room of their three-room house. The second sleeps two sons, their wives and their two infants ... A 23-year-old son and an unemployed daughter sleep in the living room.

Yeah good friend, my momma is doing great. Good to know yours is too. She complains about the difficulty that comes with my two year absence from home, but you gott'a do what you gott'a do. I also think she's just being a cry baby. But man, that continent called Africa is sure CURSED.
I mean, how can you have so many wars and so much hunger and droughts and so many kids dying, dogs too, so much illness and death and corruption and evil and so much colonization and so many people not caring.
On the bright side though, the most love and happiness and most sunshine and smiles and friends and wildlife and birds and family and the most faith and hope and words of wisdom I've had so far were on that continent. Maybe it isn't cursed after-all. But yeah, it sure is dark, the people and the prospects. I like to think the blacker the beautier and that's just me and my comforting me.
I'll stop by yo cribb after Renn Fayre. You should come, I'll buy you a pass.
Somebody GOOGLE Zimbabwe and check whats happening there. Please please do.

Yeah, life on crutches is a total bitch, getting fucked all the time. You get to fall down when going up stairs, your armpits or somewhere thereabouts all get super swollen even when you use them as recommended by physicians, ..., you do acquire muscle though, chunks of it, and i'm goin' surfing over summer, by then I'd have acquired sufficiens muscle and manoeuvering skill. Still the same old though, life still sucks.

I guess I will be fully legal in 21 minutes time, ..., I mean I turn 21. I will try and reminisce the last 21 years in the next 21 minutes. That should feel good. So far it has been a painful life. Wish me luck.
In other news, WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED THAT THE NEXT JAMES BOND GIRL WOULD BE FROM ZIMBABWE?
i'll be damned to reach 21, I'll be DAMNED. Critics said I wouldn't.

I had a fucking blast, and met a whole new breed of people up in Montana, - thanks to awesome Aurora Paulsen, - a breed of cool people, some who just plain love life, some, ..., who just don't know what the fuck to do with it, some, just don't fucking care. COWBOYS. Myself, I am still looking for that small measure of peace in life, STILL LOVE LIFE THOUGH.

Man, MUSIC should totally be made FREE.
